Aquarium and Camps Bay
Thursday we headed back to the Water Front for some aquarium fun. The aquarium was actually a lot smaller than we thought it would be, but it had a good number of penguins and a decent shark/predator tank. We were able to see the feedings at both exhibits. Always fun!
We started with all the fish. Jeff and I both liked that they have just given up having clown fish exhibits, they went straight for their intended audience and named the exhibit “Nemos.” The cool part was that they had a tunnel in the middle so that the kids could sit in the middle of the fish.
Then we enjoyed the rest of the exhibits, that crab picture is for my mom (and her siblings…) all I could think was, “That would be a delicious dinner!”
We saw them feed the penguins (Violet was excited).
We left for lunch and ran into some friends from our community in Angola, they recommended that we head out to Camps Bay for dinner. So after we returned to the aquarium to see them feed the predator fish (it was a frenzy, but the glass made pictures hard) we drove down to the Bay to walk around. The water was FREEZING, though that didn’t stop Violet and Sophie from wanting to jump right in. The sand, though, was great, nice and soft, and there were people playing in the water all over the place. We walked around and then found a restaurant that was recommended to us right on the water… it had delicious Greek food, and they were very accomodating to the kids. One weird thing we have noticed here… there is no hurry to turn over the tables, after they clear your plates it can take up to 30 minutes to get your check, even if you ask for it. It is so hard to pay for the meal, ridiculous! The beach though was beautiful and so was our view (though my battery ran out after the first shot… oops!)

WOW! I just read through all four of your amazing posts and I think you’re living in a dream land! Everything looks so awesome! In the US, even if we had animals on a reserve you know you would be renting the binoculars to view them from miles away (oh, I’ve done it in Alaska!). You guys must be having an amazing vacation! Have fun! And I love catching up via the blog! I got an ipad for Christmas and on my list is to update my blog a little more regularly (read — more than once a year). Miss you guys! Merry Christmas and Gung Hay Fat Choy!
