2 Months!

Just about, we are at 8 weeks… and Violet had her 2 month check up, so I may as well put her 2 month stats up.  She is 10 pounds 3 ounces (a week after our last weigh-in she had magically gained over a pound… somehow, someone, made a mistake…. who knows) and 23 inches long.  She is so much more even tempered than Sophie was.  She is pretty good about sleeping, we usually get 5 hours uninterrupted, and last night we got 8 hours (cheers and streamers abound!).  She is super picky about being held.. but is usually really happy when she is held.  She handles tummy-time well and is just starting to coo.  I love her cute hair (it has little red highlights in it, and I love them… I used to pay a lot of money to have those highlights!) and she has the cutest little smile that is lopsided from her cleft., but I love it.  (Random story: a YW in our ward who is a little developmentally delayed, aske me if I knew that my daughter had cut her lip open.  I tried to explain that it was ok, and it hadn’t been hurt-it had been like that when she was born… but she insisted up and down that it was hurt and kept opening up.  I apparently need a better way of explaining the cleft lip than I have now.  I have had very few moments to need an explanation and have rarely been asked about it from anyone other than friends… I will have to work on that.)

Sophie is so nice and sweet with her.  At the doctor today Sophie sat on the exam table with Violet to make sure that she “checked-out” ok.  It was cute, she kept patting Vi’s tummy and head to “make her feel better.”  They both also had shots today… Sophie was a trooper, and distracted by the option of stickers.  Vi did really well, but I sure hate that they make the parents hold down the baby… heartbreaking everytime.

Anyways… 8 weeks of my 2 girls has been great, and I can’t imagine not having Violet here with us, she is such a doll.  I love the feeling that she was meant to be with us, I truly believe that our girls and their sweet spirits were destined to be in my home for a reason, they are such a light and, though my patience has been tried more times than I can count,  life is complete with them.  Cheesy, I know, but I have such a strong testimony of out little family and am so glad that I have them.  (End cheese!)
